Although we specialize in the MAC series machine gun, we also make repairs and modifications to other sub machine guns such as Uzi Machine Guns, Thompson Machine Guns, and Stemple Machine Guns. We have performed complete builds of registered receivers and we have made small repairs such as repairing a single broken weld. We do machine gun repairs, modifications, and customizing to our customer’s request. With ammo costs rising to serious levels, anyone that has a MAC or is considering one should be aware of the alternative calibers to which their weapon can be changed. We have been doing repairs on MAC Machine Guns for almost 2 decades. These are non-permanent, commercially available conversions.

Masterpiece Arms MPA-30 SST Defender in 9x19mm. The pic's below are of a couple of caliber conversions for the M10/45. The MPA Defender safety extension can be removed, revealing a 1/2 x 28 threaded muzzle. The charging handle is on the left side of the upper receiver and doesn’t reciprocate upon firing. It is similar in construction to that of the FAL rifle. The charging handle is reminiscent of the FN FAL rifle. There are also conversions available for most of the other MAC series. 45ACP to 9mm conversion kit on the left side of the pic consists of:ĩmm upper and bolt, 9mm magazine, magwell insert, (and some might need a 9mm mag catch) Remember, you can go down in size on your caliber conversion, but most of the time you can't go to a larger caliber because of the restrictions of the magazine well not handling the larger size mags of the larger caliber. 22lr on the right hand side of the pic consists of a SubCal. 22 conversion upper and bolt, and a TacticalInc 10/22 magazine. 45ACP to 9mm conversion runs flawlessly as long as I use the Walther MAC-9mm mags. 22lr conversion kit is that it runs.sometimes. It has taken approximately 30 hours of work (polishing and modifying the upper) to get the kit to work fairly ok. I have seen several SubCal kits that run flawlessly, but none of them seem to run that way right out of the box. If you aren't the patient type who enjoys tinkering with problem guns, the SubCal kit may not be for you. However, my version is the 2nd generation kit, and I've read that they've improved and redesigned their. There are also 2 other major players in the NFA accessory world that are currently completing their. We will see how they run.Ĭraig Wheatley at Tactical Innovations used to sell a 9mm conversion kit for the M10 that used slightly-modified sten mags. It consists of a 9mm upper, bolt, a magazine well insert and magazines. The magazines have a small plate welded to the back of the mag to lower the mag catch shelf and so to provide a place for the M10 mag catch to engage.

The only reason I'm not using it now is because I found a deal on some Walther-type 9mm mags, which are a lot easier to load, so I'm using 9mm conversion kit like the one pictured at the top of the thread.

I keep toying with the idea of using the Wheatley conversion kit as the basis for a 7.62x25mm conversion for the MAC. Sleeve an an old 9mm barrel with a turned-down PPS-43 barrel, and load some 7.62x25mm short enough to feed thru a Sten mag.
